Things to Do

TO EAT

Paracasa (2 minutes)
Just down the hill from the Henson (and owned by the same team). Go for giant cinnamon rolls, grab-and-go provisions, coffee and matcha.

Fellow Mountain Cafe (10 minutes)
Sandwiches (get the BLT!), salads, and also very good cinnamon rolls in nearby Hunter.

Casa Susanna (25 minutes)
Chef Efrén Hernández’s modern Mexican restaurant at Camptown in Leeds. It’s open for both brunch and dinner—don’t miss the tetela, the whole grilled fish al pastor, and the smoked goat birria. And if you’re coming for an extra night, check out the chef’s new restaurant Pez in Hudson.

Mel the Bakery (35 minutes)
Stop here fresh off the train (or your drive) for lots of pastries.

Kitty’s (35 minutes)
Just across from the train station in Hudson, you’ll find breakfast sandwiches with fluffy eggs, great pastries, and dynamite roast chicken.

Phoenicia Diner (35 minutes)
The diner from Severance (Pip’s Bar & Grille) with very good pancakes.

TO DRINK

West Kill Brewing (30 minutes)
You’ll have to drive down a very long road seemingly to nowhere to get to West Kill. And while you might consider turning around (Kate certainly complained), it’s well worth the trek. This is a pure rustic Catskills hang, so grab a beer and enjoy the live music.

TO DO

In Nature
Walk the Windham Path, enjoy the lake at CD Lane Park, or hike Kaaterskill Falls. For the more avid hikers, there's also Black Dome.

Kind of In Nature
Go see sculptures at Art Omi, shop around Hudson, or walk around nearby Tannersville.
